KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: The Public Relations Department at Kuwait Municipality disclosed that a number of inspection campaigns carried out by Al-Rai, Mubarakiya, Sea Front and Shuwaikh centers in restaurants, supermarkets, shops and cafés in their respective areas resulted in the confiscation and destruction of 53 kilograms of spoilt fish in the Sea Front market as well as issuance of 91 citations for various violations.

As for the general cleanliness campaigns in Shuwaikh, Khaitan and Reggae, 32 citations were issued against violating entities and confiscated items were loaded into 26 lorries.

Meanwhile, Head of the Emergency Team in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Nasser Al-Hajiri said the road campaigns conducted in 2016 resulted in the issuance of 354 citations, closure of 15 shops and removal of 11,342 violating advertisements. He added the quantity of foodstuffs confiscated as they were found to be unfit for human consumption reached 171 tons.
