‘MP can be probed after immunity lifted’

KUWAIT CITY, April 18: The Constitutional Expert and Law Professor at Faculty of Law in Kuwait University Dr Mohammad Al-Feli affirmed that a lawmaker can be interrogated after his parliamentary immunity has been lifted, reports Al-Jarida daily.

He explained that the parliamentary immunity of lawmaker protects him from any penal action against him, but when this immunity is lifted through voting by other lawmakers or following the end of his parliamentary membership, the lawmaker can be legally presented in front of the judiciary.
