More women convert to Islam – Maids looked after: panel

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: Head of Women Affairs in the Islamic Presentation Committee (IPC) Wadha Al-Bales says the committee endeavors to propagate Islam among non-Muslim expatriates and non-Arabic speakers in particular, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Bales added the committee is proud of its active and distinguished female preachers that contribute to a great extent in propagating Islam, although they are few. Regarding the course of converting women to Islam rather than men, she said the number of female domestic workers is greater than the male counterpart. She also said the committee visits Kuwaiti families regularly to see to the welfare of domestic workers.

In another development, the National Guard has finalized the list of officers and civilian employees who applied for conversion of their unused leave days to cash, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. Sources confirmed submission of the list to the Finance Department to deposit the unused leave cash equivalent of the beneficiaries to their bank accounts after the Eid Al-Adha holidays.
