MoI order rejected in Bedoun, Pakistani entangle

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: The Administrative Court cancelled Interior Ministry’s decision that rejected an application submitted by a Kuwaiti woman for vehicle registration book on behalf of a Bedoun man who acquired Pakistani nationality.

According to the case file, the application was rejected under the pretext of the plaintiff violating residency law. The man, upon acquiring Pakistani nationality, authorized the Kuwaiti woman to carry out official transactions on his behalf but the Interior Ministry rejected an application submitted for his vehicle registration book, which led to the lawsuit.

The ministry decided not to renew the vehicle registration book, because the man had violated residency law. Attorney Muhammad Al-Hussaini representing the Kuwaiti woman affirmed that owner of the car was originally Bedoun who acquired Pakistani nationality based on a warning issued to his father to remedy his status while he was working for the Ministry of Education in 1989.

The lawyer explained that owner of the vehicle subsequently obtained the nationality of his father (Pakistani). He went ahead to implore the court to cancel the ministry’s decision, which denied him the vehicle registration book.
