MoI dismisses 9 cadets, non-commissioned officers for drug use

KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad has issued a decision to dismiss nine cadet and non-commissioned officers from Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences and the Training Institute for Non-commissioned Officers for consuming methamphetamine, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to a security source, investigations revealed that the nine officers used to consume drugs inside and outside the institute and academy. He said the decision taken by Lieutenant General Al-Fahad to sack the five cadet officers and four noncommissioned officer trainees is final and cannot be contested. Meanwhile, two students of a high school for girls in Hawally Educational Zone were arrested in possession of a bottle of locally manufactured liquor, reports a local daily.

They were detained by the school administration and then referred to the concerned authorities. Sources praised the school for its role of supervision in the vicinity of the school, stressing that this incident represents a dangerous trend and necessary efforts must be exerted to curb it.

Firm violates environ law: the Environment Public Authority (EPA) referred a poultry farming company to Public Prosecution for violating the environment law when discarding liquid wastes that result from the slaughtering of chickens, reports Al-Shahed daily. EPA Inspectors found a pool of blood one kilometer away from the company slaughterhouse along with construction wastes.
