MoH signs contracts to purchase KD 287,000 worth of equipment – Medical equipment will be distributed to various hospitals

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: Ministry of Health has signed contracts with some companies to purchase medical and engineering equipment and accessories worth KD 287,000 within the next few days, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The daily quoting a source noted the medical equipment and accessories are worth KD 200,000, while engineering materials and equipment are worth KD 87,000. He added the equipment and materials will be distributed to various departments and units.

He noted the procurement of medical equipment and accessories worth KD 6,000 are for Medicine Surveillance Department, while the Natural Medical Council at Farwaniya Hospital will receive KD 10,000 worth of equipment. He declared that Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Maternity Hospital will receive KD 49,000 worth of equipment and accessories, while the Specialized and General Surgery Department at Adan Hospital will have medical equipment and accessories valued at KD 69,000.

The value of medical equipment and accessories purchased were KD 22,000 for Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at Ibn Sina Hospital, and KD 19,000 for Specialized and General Surgery Department in the same hospital.

Also, the Medical Engineering Department at Ibn Sina Hospital will take delivery of KD 18,000 worth of engineering spare parts, in addition to KD 14,000 and KD 11,000 worth of spare parts for a workshop and Pharmacy respectively at Adan Hospital.
