MoE allocates KD 360,000 for students participating in ‘National Day’ operetta

Amount to cover 1,200 male, female students

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: Ministry of Education has completed the formation of a higher committee for organizing an operetta on the occasion of 59th anniversary of the Independence of Kuwait and 29th anniversary of the Liberation of Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources from the education sector.

They revealed that the committee is headed by the Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Abdulmohsen Al-Huwaila. The sources explained that the financial sector approved nearly KD 360,000 for disbursing to the students participating in the operetta at a cost of KD 300 per student.

The amount will be disbursed to the students after the operetta, and the list of the students’ names will be sent to the financial sector of the ministry. They indicated that the allocated amount is expected to cover 1,200 male and female students similar to the previous years.

Meanwhile, the Administra tive Department of Ministry of Education has appointed 370 Kuwaiti teachers and executives after freezing the application of the law on accreditation of scientific certificates, reports Al-Rai daily quoting an informed educational source.

He said the procedures for the appointment of Kuwaiti teachers who graduated from the College of Education and the main education college have been completed in all educational zones.

The source affirmed that 290 Palestinian teachers have been granted medical certificates after conducting fitness tests in order to assume work in the educational zones. He revealed that Israeli authorities refused to grant exit permits to 12 Palestinian teachers from the occupied West Bank with whom the ministry had signed contracts.
