MOCI shuts 1 store and issues violations to seven others

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 18: The Ministry of Trade and Industry stated that one commercial store was closed and seven similar stores were issued notice for violating the laws and decisions in effect regarding the measures taken to contain spread of coronaviurs (Covid-19).

TheMinistry said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency that its inspection teams monitored 228 cooperative societies, a supermarket, commercial stores and vegetable shops to determine the extent of their commitment and to maintain the stability of product prices.

Emergency center received 202 complaints via the hotline (135) and 15 complaints through the control centers, while the ration cards were renewed and issued for four transactions.

The Ministry stressed the need to adhere to the laws because of the exceptional circumstance that the country is going through, stressing that its concerned teams are continuing their inspection tours to ensure the safety of prices and services provided to consumers.
