KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan has taken new measures to consolidate the role of the ministry as a regulatory regulator for all types of trade exhibitions, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to sources, the minister issued a decree to ban officials and supervisors in the ministry from sponsoring any exhibition, activity or conference, irrespective of the type, objective and organizing party, without obtaining a written approval from him.

This decision comes within the framework of organizing the work of the ministry so that its name is not exploited, and to legitimize exhibitions. The sources revealed that this move is also aimed at blocking some of the exhibition owners who exploit the presence of the ministry’s officials at the site for promotional purposes as though the officials are supporting their exhibitions.

Meanwhile, a number of employees of elderly service centers in Ahmadi Governorate complained that some people have been using the parking spots allocated for the elderly, reports Al-Seyassah daily. They requested Kuwait Municipality and other concerned authorities to intervene in this matter and solve this problem, as it sometimes causes delay in their work.

The employees explained that some people park their vehicles in these spots for a long time without any consideration for the elderly visitors to the center.
