KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16 : Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs and Projects at the Ministry of Health Eng Ibrahim Al-Naham commented on the contents of a viral video clip regarding the misusage of a vehicle bearing the ministry’s sticker as the driver loaded fish into the car, reports Al-Rai daily. In a press statement, Al-Naham confirmed that cars are rented with the drivers every day for a period of eight hours, except during official holidays, according to the service car rental contract concluded between the ministry and a car company. He clarified that as per the stipulations of the contract, the ministry has no link with these cars outside the contracted working hours.

Nevertheless, the company is legally responsible for the behavior of drivers based on the principle that a leader is responsible for the action of his subordinate, he said. He affirmed that the ministry has taken the necessary measures and referred the matter for investigation in order to apply the penal conditions stipulated in the contract. He added the company has also pledged to monitor the behavior of its drivers and refrain from using the contracted cars bearing the ministry’s logo after the official working hours
