KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recorded violations committed by a number of cooperative societies; which allowed a dairy company that was recently accused of increasing prices without justification to sell only their new products in these cooperatives, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

Sources confirmed the violations were referred to the Minutes Committee, indicating the erring cooperatives agreed with the company to remove their old products and display only the new ones with new prices; in addition to disregarding other protocols.

Sources pointed out that in this manner, the cooperatives enabled the company to increase the prices of its products; considering it is still under investigation and there has been no official approval for such a price hike. Sources affirmed these cooperatives will be referred to the Public Prosecution as the Minutes Committee is convinced that they committed violations, with the possibility of referring them to the Competition Protection Authority for acting against the principles of fair competition in the commercial sector.
