Ministry reaffirms ban on collection of donations at HQ or public places

‘Next Ramadan preparations started’

KUWAIT CITY, March 3: Ministry of Social Affairs reaffirmed ban on the collection of cash donations either at the headquarters of charitable organizations or public places, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily quoting a source noted the ministry has started preparations for the next Ramadan with a review of regulations governing the collection of donations during the fifteenth project to be held in the holy month. He said the ministry has obliged all concerned charities to collect donations electronically, and slated in eight methods for that purpose.

He stated the ministry has again instructed the authorized charities to abide by stipulations concerning the collection of donations while submitting the names of officials handling the collections to the Department of Charities and Foundations. The list will be sent to the Ministry of Interior to issue crime clearance certificates for those officials, the source explained.
