Minister keen to solve Kuwaiti workers problem: KPC – Panel formed to address contract termination of 38

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11, (KUNA): Acting Oil Minister and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation Chairman, Anas Al-Saleh, is following with great attention situation of Kuwaiti workers, whose contracts were terminated by a firm working in Wafra field, KPC said Tuesday. Al-Saleh, also Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, said he was keen on addressing the problem of the Kuwaiti workers by providing them with jobs, KPC added in a statement.

It explained that a committee was formed on Nov 2 to address the termination of contracts of 38 Kuwaitis working in the joint Wafra operations following the cessation of operations in the Wafra field. The statement said Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), one of KPC subsidiaries, hired the 38 Kuwaitis in line with committee’s recommendation.
