KUWAIT CITY, June 28: A Kuwaiti man, in his 30s, has begged security authorities to arrest him due to fear of harming himself and his family, reports gulfnews.com.

According to news published by a Kuwaiti daily, a team of officers was dispatched to the house of the man in Sulabiya after a security body received his call.

He reportedly told police, “I follow the DAESH ideology and I am concerned that I would be pressed to commit a crime against myself or my family.” The relevant security unit immediately conducted a thorough investigation to know how the man was influenced by the ideology and propaganda of DAESH, as well as to assess the level of his relationship with the extremist group or those who support it.

Kuwait is still trying to come to terms with the murder on Friday of a young man by his brother at their diwaniya. The police said that Omar Mohammad Al Nassar, 23, killed his brother Abdul Mohsen, 25, by stabbing him.

The father discovered the crime and reported it to the police while the ensuing investigation revealed that he had been murdered by his brother. A source told Al-Qabas daily that the murderer admitted killing his brother because the latter did not perform regular prayers and he was not religious.

In Saudi Arabia, 20-year-old twin brothers were arrested after stabbing their mother to death and critically injuring their father and older sibling.

Security experts consider these murders as a strong indication that DAESH members have now reached the stage of willingly killing their parents, siblings or relatives who do not adhere to their ideology or support their preferences. — gulfnews.com
