Campaign launched in Shuwaikh Industrial Area

KUWAIT CITY, June 12: Deputy Head of the Judicial Enforcement Team at the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and member of the Singles Committee Ahmed Al-Shimmari announced 22 citations were issued during the campaign launched by the team on the Shuwaikh Industrial Area (industrial plots) on the Al-Sahafa Street, in cooperation and coordination with the Capital Control Team of the Electrical Distribution Networks Sector and a municipality branch in the Capital Governorate. Al-Shimmari said in a statement to Al-Seyassah daily that this campaign comes within the ongoing campaigns in all northern governorates, which recently targeted the industrial areas, where dozens of campaigns have been launched since the beginning of this year, most notably the campaign and the comprehensive field survey in the ports corporation 3 months ago and the campaigns in the Abdali area.

He explained the campaign against industrial plots on Al- Sahafa Street came after several reports were received regarding theft of power through illegal electricity connections, which necessitated launching of the campaign to identify the suspects despite pressures and threat the department faced “but we continue to perform our duty”. Al-Shimmari indicated the campaign targeted 65 industrial plots, and the violations varied between direct power connection (without a meter) to changing the capacity of the fuses and extensions in violation of the schemes approved by the Ministry of Electricity and Water.
