MEW clinch futsal title

Kuwait, March 11: Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) team won the 2016/2017 Ministries and Governmental Institutions Futsal Competition. The Civil Aviation Team came second and Ministry of Education (MoE) team took the third place.

The MEW team secured the title of the competition, which was played in a league form with participation of nine governmental authorities. MEW team collected a total of 24 points followed by Civil Aviation team in second place with 18 points, and MoE team in third with 15 points. The final match of the competition was played at Kazema Sports Club arena. The match saw MEW team taking on the team of Kuwait Sports Club for the Deaf. The MEW team consolidated their lead in the league by winning 6-2.

The match was followed by the closing ceremony of the 2016/2017 season. Top three teams were honored during the ceremony in the presence of the Sports for All Department Director at the Public Authority for Sports Hamed Al-Huzaim and top officials from the participating ministries and authorities. Al-Huzaim congratulated the MEW team on their achievement and for winning the competition. He also congratulated the Civil Aviation and MoE teams for winning second and third places respectively
