MEW campaign targets investment, commercial and industrial sectors

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: The deputy head of the judicial seizure team at the Ministry of Electricity Water and Renewable Energy and a member of the so-called Eviction of Bachelors from residential areas committee, Ahmed Al-Shimmari, announced from the beginning of last April until Monday, May 3, 45 violations have been recorded by the committee. Al-Shimmari told the Al-Seyassah daily the team within days will launch campaigns in Farwaniya and Al-Jahra.

The target will be investment, commercial and industrial sectors, in coordination with the power distribution networks and customer affairs sectors in the ministry. He stated the committee receives reports on violations on a daily basis in cooperation with other concerned sectors in the ministry to verify the safety of electrical installations and water services in all housing sectors in the six governorates.

Al-Shimmari stated the campaign will be one of the largest during the last ten days of the holy month. No exceptions will be made for violators, and the law will be applied in the event of any serious violations in addition to cutting power and water supply in adherence with Law No 48/2005 and Ministerial Resolution 121 of 2017. He explained the past few days saw fruitful cooperation and coordination between the concerned authorities regarding cutting off power supply to chalets for violating the environmental law No. 42/2014. Al-Shimmari stressed the team is keen to confront all violations of power and water services network, as it is considered waste of public money that must be protected.
