KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: Director of Public Relations and Media Department, and the official spokesperson for the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Aseel Al- Mazyed revealed that the authority is working on providing high quality services under the theme of “A pioneering development authority and a distinguished labor market”, reports Al-Anba daily. In an interview with the daily, she said PAM’s move to work on the new automated program at the beginning of the year led to the completion of nearly 940,000 transactions, including almost 600,000 renewal transactions, according to the latest statistics issued at the end of July 2021.
Al-Mazyed explained that PAM provides many services to Kuwaiti workers, starting with rewarding graduates. Recent graduates can apply online for the graduates support fund. On a monthly basis, the authority announces job opportunities. The sector also provides support for Kuwaiti employees of the private sector. An annual training program is organized for Kuwaiti students in the summer to find job opportunities. They are trained and guided on how to enter the labor market. The authority has also inaugurated an inquiry service through which the enquiries and suggestions of people can reach the relevant department.
Regarding the settlement of disputes between Kuwaiti workers and some employers, Al-Mazyed revealed that the settlement of disputes is within the competence of the Manpower Protection Sector, represented by the Department of Labor Relations, the competent authority in resolving any problem between the employer and the worker. She affirmed that these services have been fully automated since the beginning of this year. Indicating that there is also a service that is provided to business owners to complete all their transactions online, Al-Mazyed said PAM has provided an electronic forms service that saves time and effort for the business owner, as all he has to do is submit his transactions through the forms section and obtain a “code” using which he can visit the department and complete his transactions within minutes. She praised the great commitment of business owners and workers to the decision to ban outdoor work in the extreme heat from the beginning of June, revealing that only two violating sites were detected.
