KUWAIT CITY, March 23: Securitymen raided four apartments in different locations and arrested nine male and eight female domestic workers. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the raid was carried out based on directives from Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports Sector Major General Adeeb Suwaidan and under the supervision of Acting Director General of Residency Affairs Brigadier Abdullah Al-Hajri.
After obtaining a warrant, the officers had carried out a campaign on some suspicious domestic labor offices from where they gathered useful information that led to the discovery of the apartments. The campaign was aimed to ensure the domestic labor offices were carrying out their activities.
However, they realized that some of the offices issued fake receipts and signed bogus contracts with people who requested for workers and then they later instigated the workers to flee from the places of work.
