Maid attempts suicide – Inmate sexually abused

KUWAIT CITY, April 8: An Indian housemaid attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the second floor of her sponsor’s house in Mangaf. Security sources revealed the Operations Unit at the Interior Ministry received report on the attempted suicide. When the rescue team arrived at the location, they found the housemaid lying on the floor with various injuries including fractures on different parts of her body. She was rushed to Adan Hospital and investigation is underway to determine the circumstances behind her suicide attempt.

‘Son kidnapped’: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the Adan Police Station accusing her ex-husband of kidnapping their son whose custody is given to her by the court, reports Al-Anba daily. However, when the police contacted the suspect, he refused to hand over the boy, but said he will oblige if the judge ordered him to do so.

 Certificates forged: The Public Prosecution is investigating the secondary grade school certificates of 250 Kuwaitis, reports Al-Qabas daily. Some of the holders of these certificates have been referred to the court after it was discovered the certificates were forged.

Jet skier seriously hurt: An unidentified Kuwaiti youth who was seriously injured after his jet ski overturned has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Adan Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily. As soon as the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received the information, the Coast Guard rushed to the spot, rescued the victim and took him to the hospital with the help of paramedics.

Inmate sexually abused: Three inmates of the Central Prison — two Kuwaitis and an Egyptian — have been referred to Forensic after the Egyptian complained of sexual assault by the Kuwaitis, reports Al-Anba daily. The suspects 33 and 28 years old respectively are also said to have filmed the incident.

Three cars stolen: Police are looking for two unidentified persons for stealing two cars in two separate incidents. One car belongs to a Kuwaiti man and the other to a compatriot woman, reports Al-Anba daily. The first incident is reported from Fahaheel by a Pakistani driver who said he left the car in operation and went to buy sandwich and when he returned the car was gone. The second incident took place in front of a pharmacy when the woman was buying painkillers. Police have issued citations to both the complainants for leaving the car in operation. Meanwhile, police are looking for the suspects. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Sabahiya Police Station accusing an unidentified person of stealing his car, reports Al-Anba daily. In his complaint the Kuwaiti said the car had a mechanical failure on the Fahaheel Road and when he went to get help he found the car stolen. Police are looking for the thief.
