KUWAIT CITY, Jan 21: The Meteorological Department at the General Administration of Civil Aviation expected that the horizontal visibility in the country would be less than 1,000 meters and in some areas it might be nonexistent until Sunday morning.

Amira Al-Azmi, Head of the Aviation Forecasting Department at the Civil Aviation, told KUNA that improvement in horizontal vision is expected to begin gradually after 10 am tomorrow, provided that the state of low visibility returns again due to fog, starting from Sunday night until Monday morning.

Al-Azmi also stated that the country is currently affected by a high air extension accompanied by a moist air mass with calm winds, which leads to a state of low horizontal visibility due to the formation of thick fog.

As for air traffic, take-off and landing at Kuwait International Airport stopped due to fog Saturday morning from 6:50 am to 8:50 am.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Interior cautioned drivers to take extra care while driving due to fog in some areas. For emergency call 112.
