Look for alternative sources of income

KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Representatives of the national campaign for the enactment of a law on home-based businesses have warned against the dependence of oil as the sole source of the country’s income, reports Al-Qabas daily.

They urged the concerned authorities to fi nd alternative sources of income such as ‘home-based businesses’ which can represent an important element for refreshing the country’s economy.

The representatives stressed the importance of home-based businesses as they will help in developing the capabilities of youths such as self-dependence and selfreliance to face challenges without waiting for the government to provide them with a job in the public sector.

They indicated that the campaign is confronted with some unnecessary obstacles such as bureaucratic procedures for obtaining licenses. The representatives of the campaign stressed the need to amend the current laws, which are not in line with the international standards, because these laws and policies have aggravated the problems faced by the Kuwaiti economy.
