Liquor, drug pills, forged stamps found on Asian nabbed by police – Strict measures taken to prevent entry of Israeli products

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: An Indian expatriate was arrested in Yarmouk by policemen from the Capital Security Directorate with forged stamps and documents. The officers also confiscated two bottles of local liquor and 30 narcotic pills in his possession.
Security sources said patrolmen on tour of the vicinity at late night spotted the suspect inside a vehicle parked by the roadside and approached him for checking. They discovered forged stamps and documents in the back seat of his vehicle, in addition to liquor and narcotic pills.
Meanwhile, securitymen apprehended an Indian expatriate under the influence of alcohol and in possession of illicit drug in Sharq area. They also nabbed a citizen involved in KD 2,600 financial case. All suspects were referred to concerned authorities.

Liquor factory busted in Kabad farm: Three Asians were arrested for running a liquor factory at a livestock pen in Kabad area and security operatives confiscated 580 bottles of local brew ready for sale, in addition to 50 barrels of alcohol, and equipment for manufacturing the contraband.
The operation was conducted with the guidance of Director General of the Criminal Evidence Department Brigadier Mohamed Al-Sharhan who received a tip-off about the activities of the suspects.
Armed with warrant from the Public Prosecution, security operatives raided the livestock pen, arrested the three Asians and referred them with the contraband to Drug Prosecution.

Cheat nabbed: A Kuwaiti, in his 20s, was arrested for disassembling a car that he purchased and then sold the spare parts to a shop in Fahaheel before shipping the vehicle to a GCC country.
Acting on a tip-off, Ahmadi Security Directorate formed a team of officers to verify information that the suspect bought the car, removed the accessories and spare parts which he sold to a shop. The officers conducted a thorough investigation that led to the discovery of the stolen items.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted that he took the accessories and spare parts of the car before shipping it to another GCC country.
A case was registered and he was referred to the concerned security department for legal measures.

Drug peddler caught: Customs officers at Kuwait International Airport arrested an Asian for smuggling 1,000 narcotic pills with the intention of trafficking.
When the officers checked the Asian’s luggage, they discovered the narcotic pills which were hidden in his clothes. During interrogation, the Asian confessed that he smuggled the narcotics with the intention of selling them.
A case was registered and the Asian was referred to the relevant security department for legal action.
In another incident, an Arab was arrested for smuggling counterfeit wristwatches which he intended to sell in the local market.

No Israeli products: The Israeli boycott office at the Kuwait General Administration of Customs said measures have been intensified to prevent the entry of Israeli products into the local market after falsifying the country of origin, reports Annahar daily.
The daily added, some goods enter the country under false names such as made in Palestine, or China or a European country.
According to the sources, KGAC has issued a decision to slap a ban or more than 23 Palestinian companies owned by Israelis or because these Palestinians are shareholders in Israeli companies.

Asian nurses hurt: Ten Indian nurses who were injured in a traffic accident recently on the King Fahd Expressway when the transport van carrying them to work met with an accident were taken to a hospital by air ambulance, reports a local Arabic daily.
The accident recently happened near the Adan Hospital. The van was on the way to the Jahra Hospital after collecting the nurses from the suburbs of Fahaheel and Ahmadi.
It has been reported the driver of the van lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a collision with another vehicle causing the van to tilt to one side and overturn.

Forged passports: Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid has issued instructions to study the problem of a group of bedoun who reportedly carry forged passports, reports Al-Anba daily quoting knowledgeable security sources said
The daily added, when the issue of some of the bedoun holding such passports was referred to a court, the court is said to have ordered the seizure of such passport and the holders to be given their original status (of bedoun).
However, the daily said the court ruling is a must for the holder of a forged passport to return to his original ‘bedoun’ status.

Hunt for robbers gang: Police are looking for 4 people, one of them believed to be an ex-convict, for stealing cars, storing them in a secret location in Mutla’a desert and then smuggling them out of the country to Iraq or dismantling parts and selling them on the black market, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily said police have identified the four suspects after six stolen cars were found at one of the locations and personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted fingerprints.

Preachers summoned: A committee from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs which is tasked with monitoring the Friday sermons has summoned for interrogation Kuwaiti and expatriate preachers for violating rules and regulations, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Sources at the Ministry said the Mosques Sector is accusing these imams and preachers of indulging in political issues and promoting the takfiri thought in concrete violation of regulations of the Charter of the Mosques.
Some of them are even said to have touched on sectarian and political issues.

Victim tied to pole: Police are looking for unidentified persons for robbing a home delivery van driver in Ardhiya, reports Al-Shahed daily.
In his complaint to the Ardhiya Police Station, the driver said some people tied him to a lamp post, stole KD 40 and cell phone and drove off with his car.
When the complainant provided police details of the suspects and their vehicle, securitymen found the car is a rental vehicle.

Rare birds seized: Customs officers at the Doha Port recently foiled an attempt to smuggle 43 Houbara bustards and 16 hawks into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added, the birds were brought from Iran. The birds have been confiscated and the captain of the ship has been referred to authorities.
