Lawyer files lawsuit against sports body

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31: Lawyer Saud Al-Shahoumi said he has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court against the ministerial decision to extend the duration of the boards of sports clubs, reports Al-Anba daily.
He pointed out the Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs issued resolution No. 847 of 2016 on the continuation of the current boards of directors of the sports bodies temporarily, and then issued the decision on January 18 this year to continue.
He noted the law gives the minister the power to extend only twice and every extension is valid for a period of 6 months, which means the last extension expired last July. However the board members are still in offices.
