Lack of identity and documents prevent hundreds of residence violators benefiting from amnesty

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 20: Hundreds of violators of Indian nationality flocked to amnesty centers at schools in Farwaniya. Security sources revealed that the loss of identities and documents and the lack of a database obstruct hundreds of illegal expats to benefit from amnesty laid by Ministry of Interior.

According to investigations, they entered the country years ago, as infiltrators tore their identity documents. There has been cooperation by Asian embassies in order to infer their nationals and obtain travel documents for them, but due to deadline for expatriates of Indian nationality today and from tomorrow amnesty centers will start receiving violators from Sri Lanka, only on last five days of April are available for any violator from any country to apply.

The head of the Evacuation and Sheltering Force at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdin Al-Abideen, stated that the number of immigrants arriving from the Indian nationality is about 5,000 violators, and that among them numbers do not hold passports or travel documents from their country’s embassy are 600 Indian violators who came yesterday.

Al-Abideen added that the reception centers have completed the procedures of thousands of violators of Indian nationality, and have been referred to shelters, pointing out that the concerned authorities have contacted the Indian embassy in the country to end the procedures of violators who do not have passports or travel documents, by extracting new travel documents for them So that they can facilitate their procedures in preparation for their deportation from the country.

Al-Abideen stated that the last day for receiving Indian workers is expected to witness a great turnout, noting that the shelter schools are fully prepared to receive all the violating workers of all nationalities.
