Kuwait’s Al-Yoha wins bronze at Islamic solidarity games, Al-Shammari qualifies for final

KONYA, Turkey, Aug 10: Kuwait’s Yacoub Al-Youha won the bronze medal Wednesday in the 110-M race at 13.30 second at the fifth Islamic solidarity games currently hosted by the Turkish city of Konya. Meanwhile Kuwaiti and Gulf champion Madhawi Al-Shammari cruised into the final in the 200-m race, making a new record for Kuwait. Speaking to KUNA,

Al-Yoha said that he obtained the third place in today’s competition, thanking the Olympic committee and the accompanying delegation as well as Kuwaiti people for their unlimited support. Majed Al-Zaid won bronze for pole vault.

Kuwait is participating in the games with 60 male and female athletes vying in ten games including karate, swimming, judo and shooting as well as others. The tourney will run until August 18 with the participation of about 6,000 athletes of more than 50 Islamic countries. (KUNA)
