Kuwaitis can return even if they are in 31 banned countries

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: Director of Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Eng. Yusef Al-Fawzan, stated that Kuwaitis are allowed to enter the country at any time, even if they are in the 31 countries which are currently banned from entering Kuwait, provided that they carry a PCR certificate which is valid for no more than 72 hours.

Al-Fawzan stated to Al Anba that the health authorities demanded to avoid traveling to and from 31 countries due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, stating that every 10 days they are re-evaluated according to the health situation in those countries.

He stated that the baggage is prohibited on the plane and only a handbag is permitted. The travel is not restricted to age limit and anyone can travel provided they are carrying PCR certificate, health insurance (for Kuwaitis) and have registered through the app.

There were around 400 flights per day, now it is reduced to 100 flights. The situation is reassessed according to the plans set and decisions made according to the global health situation. Precautionary measures such as wearing face masks, social distancing and wearing gloves have been strictly followed at Kuwait International Airport.

Expats from banned countries cannot fly directly to Kuwait or via transit but they have to travel to any country which is not in the ban list, stay for 14 days and return to Kuwait with a PCR test certificate which is valid for 72 hrs on arrival.
