Kuwaiti woman assaults policeman, helps husband flee

KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti woman for assaulting a police officer, attempting to run him over and helping her husband to escape, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the couple was riding in a luxurious car past midnight and they were stopped by police at a checkpoint in front of a 5-star hotel. On checking their IDs, police discovered the couple was wanted by law, so the husband who was behind the wheel was ordered to pull over. The wife attacked the officer, returned to the car and tried to run over the officer who sustained slight injuries. The woman was then ‘controlled’ but the husband managed to escape. The officer was taken to the Adan Hospital for first aid.

Citizen nabbed: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for possessing and consuming drugs in Farwaniya area, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling the area when they suspected a vehicle with a single occupant parked close to an electrical transformer in Farwaniya area. They approached him and checked his details to discover he is a Kuwaiti. Out of suspicions over his strange behavior, securitymen checked him to find eight sachets of drugs. He was arrested and referred with the drugs to the concerned authorities for investigations.
