Kuwaiti team bag 32 medals – Kuwait win GCC Fencing Champ’ship

MANAMA, Feb 11, (KUNA): Kuwait won the GCC 5th Fencing Championship after winning the individual duel on the last day on Friday.

The Kuwaiti team bagged 32 medals in the Sabre, Epee and Foil competitions, Mishal Al-Shimali, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, said in a statement to KUNA.

Kuwait – represented by Khaled Al-Shamlan, Abdullah Al-Shimali, Abdullah Al-Khayat and Abdulaziz Jumaa – won the Sabre team competition.

A team consisting of Abdulaziz Al-Shatti, Saad Al-Wawan, Hassan Al-Foderi and Faisal Ashkanani won the Epee team duel, he said.

The Kuwaiti teamof Ali Fadhel, Hussein Al-Foderi, Khaled Yusuf and Abdullah Gholoom won the Foil fight, he added.
