Kuwaiti student kills brother in fight over money in Cairo

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 3: An unidentified young Kuwaiti student has been hospitalized under tight security following a fatal dispute with his sibling which ended in the latter’s death inside an apartment in the Agouza district in Cairo, reports Al-Rai e-newspaper.

According to Egyptian security sources the brothers were involved in a quarrel over money matters.

The sources also said the victim was visiting his brother, studying in Cairo, to spend New Year’s holiday and during a fight the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck causing his death on the spot. The ‘killer’ also sustained a cut on the left thigh.

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Cairo Salem Al-Zamanan while expressing his sorrow over the incident said the embassy is following the incident and in the meantime all is being done to bring the remains of the victim to Kuwait for final rites. The suspect is expected to be handed over to the Egyptian Public Prosecutor after discharge from hospital.
