Kuwaiti remains missing; Romania probes case

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7, (KUNA): Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al- Hamad Al-Sabah discussed here on Wednesday with the Vice-President of the Romanian Intelligence Major General Silvio Berdoy ways of bolstering cooperation and the latest developments over the case of the missing Kuwaiti citizen who disappeared in mysterious circumstances in Romania.

The Security Media Department of the Ministry said in a press statement that Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled asserted during the meeting durability and depth of friendly relations between the two countries as well as their coordination in various fields, adding that the talks were cordial and optimistic. The statement said that this atmosphere has helped to increase the development and prospects of joint cooperation in all areas of security work, pointing out that the Kuwaiti side expressed eagerness to benefit from the Romanian expertise and experience in the security sphere.

For his part, the Romanian official stressed the deep-rooted bilateral relations, noting that the Romanian cabinet meeting to be held in two days will address developments over the search for the missing Kuwaiti citizen. He said the exchange of visits between both countries’ security chiefs will contribute to the development of prospects of cooperation to achieve common goals, praising the level of the Kuwaiti security services and efficiency.
