Kuwaiti racers ‘dominate’ Drag Racing Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14, (KUNA): Kuwaiti racers from Basel Salem Al-Sabah Motor Racing Club dominated top places in the third round of Bahrain Drag Racing Championship which concluded on the dawn of Saturday, January 14 at the Bahrain International Racing Circuit.

The racers managed to win 14 cups in various levels of the championship, which is considered to be the toughest in the region due to the participation of the best and top racers in the event.

Among those who won was Saud Al-Sarraf who came third in the “Outlaw 6-Cylinder” category. Jaber Al-Maghrebi came first and Nasser Al-Shatti came third in the “Competition 4.5” category.

Turki Al-Humaidhi took second place and Talal bin Aidan took the third place in the “Super Street 6-Cylinder” category. Mohammad Suleiman came first and Abdullah Al-Failakawi came third in the “Super Street V8” category.

In the motorbikes competition, racer Mesfir Al-Mesfir and Bader Aidan took second and third places respectively in the “Super Street Bike” category. Meshal Al-Saber, Mohammad Al-Awwad and Mohammad Bo Rashid won the first, second and third places respectively in the “Pro Bike” category.

In the “Street Bike” category, Bader Aidan came first and Mousa Al-Buloushi came third.

Meanwhile, Head of the Supreme Committee for Drag Racing at Basel Al-Sabah Motor Racing Club Sheikh Duaij Al-Fahad Al-Sabah commended the distinguished performance of the Kuwaiti racers and their commitment to raising the Kuwaiti flag high in the international arena.

He said well-studied plans and good preparations contributed to the success of the Kuwaiti racers, affirming the continuation of necessary technical and mechanical preparations for the coming competitions. He added that all racers are motivated and geared up to win top positions.

Sheikh Duaij Al-Fahad expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the President of Automobile Federation of Bahrain Sheikh Abdullah bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his efforts which reflected positively on the success of the championship. He also thanked the supporters of the Kuwaiti racing team, as they gave the team morale boost to push them towards performing better and achieving top positions.
