KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: Eight Kuwaitis – five men and three women – were arrested after they appeared in a video clip which went viral on social media and in which they were seen quarreling under a building in Maidan Hawally area, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to security sources, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects after seeing the video clip. After conducting investigations and identifying the suspects, the latter were arrested.
It was discovered that three of the suspects work in security and military sectors, including a police officer of rank “First Lieutenant”, while the rest are jobless.
Necessary action was taken in the police station of the area. Investigations are ongoing to verify whether the quarrelers had consumed liquor and to determine the cause of the quarrel as well as to confirm whether the quarrel was based on a violation or was aimed to attract the three women.
