KUWAIT CITY, April 20: A Kuwaiti who is believed to be in his 60s has been running from pillar to post to get his travel ban lifted which was slapped on him in 2003 by the Court of Appeals for allegedly failing to pay KD 2,045 to an unidentified company, reports Al-Rai daily.

The man, identified only as Mohammad, told the Al-Rai daily, he was surprised when he discovered that the court had slapped a travel ban on him as a result of which he was unable to renew his passport. He added, the company demands from him the above sum, which although is small amount, but has no proof of transactions. He went on to say, he visited the Sentences Enforcement Department to lift the ban but was informed it was unable to do so, due to a fault in the system.

The Kuwaiti added he was unable to perform Umrah for 13 years and has even prevented him from going to Saudi Arabia for kidney dialysis. Through the daily, he has appealed to the Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled to help solve his problem.
