Kuwaiti coronavirus patient spits on face of a Nurse – No law to criminalize the perpetrator

The Nursing Society denies the incident

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 12: A female Doctor’s complained that a patient infected with coronavirus spitted on a nurse which sparked controversy, and has opened the door to query on existence of punishment and criminalization of action for those who deliberately pass infection to others.

“There is no provision for criminalizing those who intentionally transmit infection of coronavirus. Article 15 of Law 62 of 1992 penalizes those who intend to transmit HIV infection intentionally” said Dr. Abdul Karim Rabee Al-Enazi, civil law doctor

The Nursing Society denies the incident

The head of the Nursing Society, Bandar Al-Anazi, denied the spitting incident, stressing that what happened was just a quarrel between two patients and the nursing officer, as the latter did not complain this confirms the importance of the humanitarian work provided by the nursing team.
