Kuwaiti citizen arrested for killing wife in home dispute

KUWAIT CITY, March 28: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for killing his Kuwaiti wife and leaving her lifeless body in the bathroom of their house in Taima area.

According to sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the crime, securitymen rushed to the location and found the lifeless body of a woman lying on the bathroom floor in a pool of blood.

Within hours of investigation, the detectives managed to tie the missing links concerning the crime and identified the culprit, who was later discovered to be the husband of the victim. The initial investigation revealed that the reason behind the murder was a domestic dispute between the couple.

Fake citizenship: Acting on a tip off, personnel from the General Department for Citizenship and Travel Documents arrested two Iraqis for obtaining the Kuwaiti citizenship on forged documents, reports Al-Rai daily. According to reports the father of the suspects had paid money to a Kuwaiti to add the names of his two sons to his nationality file.

During interrogation the two ‘Kuwaitis’ said they were aware their father is Iraqi and had obtained the citizenship for them after paying money to the late Kuwaiti, whose identity has not been disclosed. Investigations conducted by the detectives revealed the two Iraqis have a sister who is married to a Kuwaiti and obtained citizenship under Article (8). She also said she was aware of the forgery. The brothers and the sister have been referred to authorities
