Kuwait Ramadan futsal tourney concludes

ROME, June 3, (KUNA): Kuwaiti international Aqua biker Yusif Abdulrazaq won on Sunday the second round cup of the Ski Division GP1, at the Aquabike World Championship 2019, held in Sardinia, Italy.

Speaking to KUNA, Abdulrazaq expressed his joy to raise the Kuwaiti flag after securing the second round’s cup, organized by the International Motor boating Union, at Gallura beach.

Abdulrazaq also thanked Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad for his support, and pointed out his keenness in beating his own record and maintaining his record at the World Genius Records as the first Kuwaiti athlete to achieve it.

The Italian championship is participated with 138 bikers representing 28 countries, is the second round of the five-round world championship after a new round in India, while the final round will be held in Sharjah, UAE, in December.

Meanwhile, Al-Roudhan’s Ramadan 40th futsal competition, sponsored by His Highness the Amir, concluded on Sunday with “Gulf Cables” being crowned as champion for beating “BMW” with penalty kicks.

A number of officials and VIPs attended the final match; namely National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, representative of the tournament sponsor, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan and the Advisor at the Crown Prince Diwan, Nasser Al-Roudhan.

Minister Al-Jabri said in a statement that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s sponsorship of the championship for the eight year in a row affirmed his staunch support for sports and athletes.

He noted that 36 teams, including Arab teams, participated in the tournament.

Al-Jabri added that His Highness the Amir speech on the last 10 days of Ramadan reiterated the government support for the youth.
