Kuwaiti arrested in abduction charges

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: Police have taken into custody an unidentified Kuwaiti after a Syrian accused him of attempting to kidnap his minor son, reports Al-Rai daily. The Syrian told the police the Kuwaiti is his neighbor and when he attempted to kidnap his son, the latter screamed for help and the Kuwaiti escaped.

After filing the case, police contacted the suspect several times, but he did not answer the calls. The case was then handed over to the Public Prosecution and a search and arrest warrant was issued against the man.

When police went to the house of the man he was allegedly high on alcohol and exchanged blows with police, however, he was overpowered, handcuffed and taken to the headquarters of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation for interrogation. According to a security source, police were unable to investigate the accused because he was high on alcohol and unaware of his actions.
