Kuwait University wins 2 golds and 2 bronze in 9th Sports Tournament for Gulf Universities

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9: Kuwait University won four medals, two gold and two bronze in the table tennis, swimming and paddle competitions in the ninth sports tournament for Gulf universities and higher education institutions hosted by the State of Qatar.

The Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Dhafiri, said in a press statement today, that the table tennis team, which included Abdul Wahab Abul, Abdulaziz Al-Saqabi, Hamad Al-Humaidan and Ibrahim Al-Shihab, won the gold medal, while the student Abdulaziz Munther won a similar medal in the swimming competitions (200 meters – butterfly).

Al-Dhafiri added that the university’s padel team, consisting of Yaqoub Al-Zakari, Omar Al-Awn, Falah Al-Ajmi, Abdullah Al-Mikhial and Ibrahim Al-Shihab, won the bronze medal, while the student, Abdul Rahman Bougaith, won a similar medal in the swimming competition (50 meters – butterfly).

He further stated that the keenness of students to participate in local, regional and international sports activities and to achieve advanced positions through which the name of Kuwait University is raised high.
