Kuwait supports Turkish-Arab foray into business-oriented philanthropy

ISTANBUL, June 5: Kuwait joined the festivities as “Core Istanbul”, billed as a collaborative Turkish-Arab firm, that was inaugurated on Saturday in what is touted as a more business- oriented approach towards philanthropy. Kuwait Islamic Charity Organization’s participation in the inauguration of the firm is a show of support for any initiative undertaken by Arab youngsters, its chief Dr. Abdullah Al-Matouq said. He hailed the endeavor as a novel initiative in the world of philanthropy, hoping that more Arab and Islamic nations would follow suit in exploring this new approach that aims to give impetus to philanthropic projects.

“This represents a new chapter in global efforts to alleviate human misery,” according to Kuwait’s Ambassador to Turkey Ghassan Al-Zawawi, praising the initiative as one “worthy of support.” Another Kuwaiti participant, Jamal Al-Nouri, the chief of Kuwaitbased Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri charity, said he hoped the new hub would be a launchpad for Arab youngsters into job market, allowing them the chance to translate their ambitions into realities on the ground. The gathering was attended by a bevy of diplomats from across the wider Arab region, all of them have given their support for an initiative aiming to create an employment boom for youngsters (KUNA)
