Kuwait sirens test Tuesday

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22: The Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Ministry of Interior has announced that the Civil Defense General Administration will test the emergency sirens at 10:00 am on Tuesday.

In a press statement, the department explained the sirens test, which will be conducted in all six governorates, is part of the periodical tests conducted by the administration to check the functionality (periodical maintenance) of the warning devices and to raise awareness among the people.

The department said three types of sounds or tones will be heard and each sound has specific meaning, which every resident of Kuwait should be familiar with.

It added the siren test also serves as a reminder for the emergency services agencies to prepare themselves accordingly after hearing the different sounds as follows: Do not believe anything you hear, especially rumors, and avoid spreading information you are not sure of because this is one of the enemy’s weapons to ‘kill’ the spirit of the public. Always listen to announcement from official information media agencies.
