Kuwait ranks 4th in GCC and 38th globally in index of Internet speed

Qatar tops list of Gulf states

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: Kuwait ranked fourth in the GCC and 38th internationally in the recent index of mobile Internet speed with 33.02 megabytes per second; while it also ranked fourth in the GCC and 78th globally in terms of fixed broadband Internet with 23.39 megabytes, reports Al-Rai daily . According to the Speedtest website which publishes the index monthly, the average loading speed of mobile Internet in Kuwait is 16.76 megabytes per second and that of fixed broadband is 19.59 megabytes.

Meanwhile, Qatar topped the list of GCC countries and ranked fourth in the world with mobile Internet speed of 59.05 megabytes, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which ranked 12th rank with 49.49 megabytes, Oman ranked 34th with 34.97 megabytes, Saudi Arabia ranked 48th with 30.80 megabytes, and Bahrain ranked 68th with 22.96 megabytes.
