Kuwait ranked ‘8th best’ vacation capital in world – ‘Among safest cities’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: The number of restaurants per square kilometer in Kuwait is 5.72, according to the Capital Cities Index issued by the Bounce, one of the largest luggage storage networks in the world, reports Al-Rai daily. According to the index, the average price per night in hotels is about 131 pounds sterling. As for the number of tourist attractions, there are 2.12 landmarks per square kilometer in Kuwait.

In this index, Kuwait ranked eighth as the best capital for vacation in the world, ahead of cities such as Ankara and Jakarta. This places Kuwait among the ten most preferred capitals as a vacation destination in a group that includes Abu Dhabi, Manama and Riyadh from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The index ranked Kuwait among the safest cities, with a low crime rate (24 out of 100). Abu Dhabi ranked second after Vaduz, the capital of the Emirate of Liechtenstein. Also, Kuwait City acquired more than four million hashtags on Instagram, which is one of the criteria adopted by BOUNCE in ranking the best cities in the world. The Capital Cities Index announced by the BOUNCE network included the rating of 69 capitals in the world.

The network stated that it relied on factors such as tourist facilities, weather and climate in those cities in its classification. It clarified that its focus on capitals stems from the fact that they are often the center of activities, landmarks and tourist facilities in the concerned country. These factors have made the Maltese capital Valletta at the forefront of the preferred capitals for tourism, ahead of Paris, which the index mentioned as having the second largest rate of attractions and restaurants per square kilometre, while Valletta has 311 of these attractions per square kilometre.

Despite such a large difference in the number of attractions, the differences were slight in the scale of points given by the indicator for the different capitals. Out of 10 points, Valletta scored 6.74 points. Abu Dhabi ranked second with 6.24 points, only 0.5 points behind the first place. New Delhi came in third place, followed by Bahrain’s capital Manama in fourth place with 5.77 points. Kuwait scored 5.56 points, which qualified it to occupy the eighth place, followed by Ankara and Jakarta.
