Kuwait’s junior soccer team qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing third edition of the international “Jeem Cup” after beating its Emirati counterpart 2-1 Monday.

In the second half, Kuwait scored the second and final goal of the match in minute 32 by player Saud Qasem.

Meanwhile, Coach Ali Falah told KUNA that his team’s early goal has contributed in enabling the team to be in control for majority of the first half, before UAE tied the score, adding that the Kuwaiti team applied a full pressure on their Emirati counterparts that resulted in scoring the winning goal that qualified the team for the semifinals. The team will be preparing physically, mentally, and spiritually to face the French team in the semifinals, Falah said, adding that Kuwait are determined to defeat France and reach the final match.

He also pointed out his players’ impressive performance that led to a well-deserved win, thanking Kuwait’s Ministry of Education for their efforts to cater to the needs of the team.
