Kuwait national disabled athletic team to join Marrakesh tourney

Kuwaiti athlete practices in preparation for the upcoming international tournament.

KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Kuwait Disabled Sports Club (KDSC) announced that the national disabled athletic team of Kuwait will participate in the International Shooting Competitions of Hanover (ISCH), which will be held on May 5-14 and the Marrakesh International Athletics Tournament.

In a press statement, the Board Director of the club, Shafi Al-Hajri affirmed that the Kuwait national disabled athletic team is participating in the Marrakesh tournament along with strong Arab and Africa’s national teams in 15 shooting categories and long jump competition.

He highlighted the determination of the Kuwaiti team to win this tournament, as it is regarded as a major qualifying round for the World Para Athletics Championship in London, which will take place this coming summer.

Even though a good number of athletics have already qualified for the championship, Al-Hajri expressed his hope for more number of the national athletes to qualify for it.

Regarding the International Shooting Competitions of Hanover (ISCH), Al-Hajri said the Kuwait national team will be represented by Atif Al-Dousari and Ali Khalifa, adding that they are currently in the training camp in Germany, preparing to compete with shooters from various parts of the world.
