Kuwait Municipality determines timing for road sweeping & collecting garbage during Ramadan

KUWAIT CITY, March 29: The Director- General of Kuwait Municipality, Engineer Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, issued an administrative decision to close restaurants and cafes and their like during the specified fasting hours and open two hours before the official iftar time, the Maghreb call to prayer from the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan, reports Al-Rai daily.

In public interest the Kuwait Municipality said it is keen about the safety and health of cleaning workers due to the risks of exposure to hot temperatures during fasting, Al-Manfouhi issued an administrative circular in which he emphasized all hygiene departments of the public and road works in the Municipality branches in all governorates follow up the implementation of hygiene contracts concluded with cleaning companies and abide by the working hours set for daily roads sweeping works and garbage collection.

Eng Al-Manfouhi stressed adherence to manual sweeping hours daily from 3:00 until 10:00 am as well as collecting garbage daily from 10:00 pm to 1:00 am. Al-Manfouhi obligated the supervisory bodies in the concerned departments to work in tandem with the concerned authorities from the first day of the month of Ramadan and to apply the penalties and fines stipulated in contracts concluded by the Municipality with the cleaning companies to ensure they adhere to the working hours set for manual sweeping and collecting garbage in order to avoid disciplinary responsibility resulting from violating the provisions of the circular
