Kuwait launches official Sahel version for business owners

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13, (Agencies): Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Public Authority for Civil Information, Mazen Al-Nahedh, announced Tuesday the launch of the official version of “Sahel” application for business owners. In a press statement, he said that the application aims to enable owners of companies and institutions to complete single-window transactions, with 16 government departments providing 141 services.

He added that the official launch came after succeeding in trial phases, in which 3,800 subscribers registered, received 23,000 notifications and 22,500 statements, and completed about 3,000 services. Al-Nahedh indicated that the application also enables the owners of companies and institutions to authorize others to complete their transactions. He also noted that the licensing system has been linked automatically with the government agencies in issuing various licenses through the application. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs launched its first service through the governmental “Sahel” application to inquire about the years of Hajj for those who performed the duty through approved Hajj campaigns, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Ibrahim Al-Enezi, Director of the Ministry’s Information Systems Department, said in a press statement Monday, that the service represents the beginning of linking between the ministry and the “Sahel” application. He indicated that more ministry services will be launched until the completion of the targeted services to be launched on the application such as the registration service for those wishing to perform the Hajj, and the registration of students in the Qur’an houses, the Holy Qur’an memorization centers, and the young reader centers. He explained that the targeted services also include reporting on maintenance, cleanliness of mosques, suggestions and complaints, and a number of services of interest to citizens in general, which will be launched sequentially during the coming weeks.
