KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: Kuwait on Tuesday handed Bahrain a commemorative coin marking the 40th anniversary of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) inception, acknowledging the bloc’s contributions towards regional development. The coin, made of pure gold, was given to Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa by Kuwait central bank chief Dr. Mohammad Al-Hashel, with an iconic image of Gulf Arab leaders dating back to the GCC’s formation in 1981 plastered on the heads, while the tails of the coin is emblazoned with the bloc’s logo. The Kuwaiti central bank chief conveyed greetings from his country’s political leaders to the Bahraini king, wishing the Gulf island nation continued prosperity.
