Kuwait figure skaters participate in Dubai Int’l tourney

KUWAIT, May 5: Kuwaiti delegation for female figure skating, comprised of 12 players, headed on Thursday to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in international figure skating competition (Skate Emirates). The championship is poised to launch tomorrow in Dubai and last for three days amidst great international participation.

Director in the Kuwaiti winter games club Salem Al-Ajmai named the participating athletes to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) prior to departure, Hessa Al-Saraawi, Jana Al-Shamlan, Sarah Al-Laho, Khairiya Al-Kandari, Sama Chragh, Hajar Al-Kandari, Nora Qutaina, Salma Al-Saqa, Elizabeth Frank, Jouri Al-Mulla, Lea Al-Qabandi and Modhawi Al-Hamdan. Al-Ajmi added that the club organized a camp in turkey and another at home to prepare for the tournament, commending the commitment and determination of the athletes. He also described the participation of the girls in this championship as an significant event to showcase the progression of the game in the Kuwait on a global level, especially as the game is gaining popularity. He also noted the role of the board of directors headed by Fhaid Al-Ajmi for their support. Joining the delegation are also member of board of directors Mubarak Al-Omani, national team supervisor Ghena Al-Fahad and coaches Alice Leopardi and Leia Faith.
