Indian envoy says remain true to his promise

KUWAIT CITY, July 28: The Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Sibi George on a historic decision by India to allot Kuwait as the first center for NEET examination outside India addressed the gathering of principals of Indian schools in Kuwait, the teachers, students and their parents and partook in their happiness on this auspicious occasion. The ambassador said, this is a solemn promise given by him to “do everything that is humanly possible to address the concerns and worries that our children face in the midst of the devastating Covid-19 pandemic.” He went on to say, “I am proud of the fact that our students have shown exemplary courage and resilience in dealing with every Covid-19 challenge and for our part we did our best to do away with their anxiety and nervousness. We at the Embassy, along with our school authorities in Kuwait and India including CBSE, did everything possible to ensure that the final examinations are conducted in as safe and orderly manner as possible and they will not lose an academic year under any circumstances.”

Concerns
He added, it was his firm belief that the government back home in India will remain fully committed to addressing the concerns of the community including children abroad and it culminated in the cancellation of the CBSE examination and the decision in this regard was taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after wide consultations with concerned authorities keeping in mind the interest and safety of the children. He added, the decision by the Indian government to allocate a center for Kuwait to conduct NEET and NATA examinations will help the students and save time and energy. The Indian embassy, the ambassador said, has up a committee of senior officers at the mission to coordinate each step with the concerned authorities in India and Kuwait on a regular basis in the best interest of the students. He praised the positive decisions taken in recent years by India as part of an overall transformation approach to develop the academic ecosystem in the country for the holistic development of young minds for the future of the country, which he said, is of utmost importance. The ambassador took this opportunity to remind the audience of the launch of ‘India @ 75’ to commemorate India’s 75th independence anniversary. “You may also be aware that this year we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait. These are important milestones in the history of our nation and history of relationship with Kuwait,” he added.
